What is Aging in Place?
There’s a new trend taking place the senior community: It’s called “aging in place.” Simply put, the majority of seniors are looking for ways to stay in their homes, as opposed to moving to a nursing home or assisted living.
About Straight Stair Lifts
The stair lifts are attached directly into the stair treads, and not into the wall beside the staircase. This means that regardless of whether you have an open stairway or railings on both sides, your staircase is still compatible with a stair lift unit.
There are different types of stair lifts to suit the wide range of staircases. Straight indoor stair lifts are the most common type of stair lifts and are use on staircase without any turns, curves, or landings.
Stair lift Length & Width Requirements
Stair lifts can be modified to fit nearly any staircase length. Our factory certified installers will trim the rail to the exact length needed for your home. Our stair lifts require only about 29″ of space, which can be easily accommodated by modern staircases. When not in use, the seats, arm rests, and foot rests fold flat against the wall to maximize the usable staircase space.
24 Volt Battery Power Source
Indoor stair lifts from Mobility Connection Inc. are battery-powered, and require access to a basic 110v outlet in order to recharge the unit’s battery. In the event of a power outage, a fully-charged stair lift will continue to run and provide the same ability to up or down the staircase.
